Release of the 15th of February 2014

Grotesque and it carries on… the situation of the cargo vessel "JUST MARIIAM" forced to call in at Lorient on the 12th of February 2014, with a crew who wishes to be sent back home once they will have been paid.

Bear in mind that this "ship" was inspected in Norway in the month of December 2013 and that she had docked a few days ago in Reykjavik in Iceland.

Mor Glaz Association wonders once more about the seriousness of the inspections on board ships including the northern countries.

These situations shouldn't happen anymore, as we are told that ships are more and more seriously inspected… except that this ship managed by a "pseudo-shipowner" with a diverse cargo… is a way of getting rid of his junk to less attentive countries.

Mor Glaz Association will be once more very attentive that the first preoccupation of the French authorities is not to make this ship go who is a bit too old to sail and that puts in danger the seafarers who are on board, the rescuers… the environment and the coastal population.

For Mor Glaz Association, it is shocking that a classification society can class this ship… that a country accepts to register it… that it can find an insurer and a charterer.

Mor Glaz Association will follow very closely the situation of the seafarers (poor wage arrears) and of the ship.

The ones who could be in a hurry to get rid of this ship would be responsible of all the difficulties that this one would face during the crossing if this one is still possible.
